The Churchbridge Public School Community Council has been in place for over 10 years now! Our role is an advisory body whose primary purpose is to support student learning and well-being as well as to promote parent and community involvement in our school. We work closely with our school administration to provide advice for educational planning and decision-making at our school. Any parent or guardian of a student who attends our school can join the SCC. We meet 5-6 times per year and currently have 8 parent members, 2 student members, and one staff representative in addition to our administrative team. We can advise on local programming, extra-curricular activities, student fees and fundraising opportunities which are related to the school. We plan and participate in parent engagement activities, as well as other various activities related to the outcomes from the Learning Improvement Plan implemented by our school.
The School Community Council is an integral part of the school and serves as a primary link between home, community and school. Students have a greater chance of being successful when parents are involved and engaged at the school level supporting their child's learning. If you would like attend meeting, join the board or get more information, please contact our board chairperson, Deidra Schaan.
